If someone else has recorded your song, even with your permission, this Informational Article from audioEd will help you understand just who owns what, who gets paid, and if anyone is likely to jump out of the woodwork later and want a piece of the action.

Why? Because the copyright in a sound recording, which is a particular a series of sounds, is completely separate from the copyright in the underlying song which has been recorded.
